The photo I used for this project is Ilya Repin’s
Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan. It’s one of my favorite paintings so I figured I’d use it. For the glitch affect I wanted to create a gradual static glitch along with one that makes random glitchy lines like a spider web. It turned out pretty well, with the colors for the lines being copied from the source image. The web effect uses frame counts as a way to control the speed of the spawning of lines.
Code keybinds:
- ENTER saves the current frame
- ‘a’ starts the glitch effect (the web effect is constant)
- ‘s’ pauses the glitch effect
- ‘o’ resets the image to its original state
